Spyder Ski Jackets

Blending earthly awareness and luxurious style into a single, functional ski jacket shell is what the Jet Fur is all about. Spyder uses renewable bamboo fibers, which provides naturally anticrobial properties, plus, you get that warm and cozy feel by the mix of traditional nylon fabrics.

What makes this ski jacket as appealing on the streets of your preferred ski resort, as well as on the slopes, is the attention to detail, suburb tailoring, low-bulk, high impact Thinsulate Insulation by 3M, a removable, long-pile fox fur collar, and overlapping, clean lines. Some features of the Jet Fur include…

* Removable Body Fabric Belt at Hip
* Removable Fur Lined Collar
* Waterproof Zippers
* Removable, Rollaway Hood
* Zip-Out Powder Skirt with Lycra, zippered Adjustable Sleeve Cuff, and Underarm Ventilation Zippers
* Inner Fleece Cuff at Wrist
* Detachable Brushed Micro Fiber Inner Collar
* Critical Seams Taped, Internal Mesh Goggle Pocket
* Custom Chamois Lens Wipe on Shock Cord
* Custom Embossed Satin Lining, a Key Holder Clasp in Pocket, and a Data Card Pocket
* Constructed of Polyester and Bamboo Blend Twill with XT.L™
* Long Pile Fox Fur
* Thinsulate™ Supreme Insulation, 100 and 60 gram

Though the jacket, and actually all ski jackets, are not one hundred percent waterproof, it is well insulated. Do not take for granted the 3M-brand Thinsulate, it really helps when the temperature drops. Other pluses of the Spyder Ski Jacket is the removable hood, which is big enough to fit around a helmet, and does a great job of keeping the cold and snow out. A feature that helps close the hood and keep it closed, is the full-length zipper, which goes all the way up through the collar.

Probably Spyder’s best feature in this jacket are the pockets…lots of them. The jacket has all the normal hand warming pockets, plus two chest pockets, an inside wallet pocket, two mesh pockets, one inside, and one outside. There is also a unique back pocket that fits horizontally, like having a waist belt built into the jacket.

No jacket is complete without a powder skirt, and this one will not disappoint, as it is elastic and has a draw-cord to cinch it up tight. The jacket also comes with adjustable cuffs, strapped by velcro. Both help keep the snow out.

This Spyder Ski Jacket is of the warm variety, unlike basic shell jackets. However, there are going to be times when the weather is warm, and in this case, the jacket comes with vents. This is a nice feature, but a bit ackward as the vents are fitted with mess, which I suppose is to help keep the snow out. The problem is that the mesh gets caught up in the zippers and you must wait until you get to the chalet to fix it.
